Some species of seahorse mate for life. Searching for love is difficult and risky; they are poor swimmers, remain camouflaged and live far apart. Yet when they find each other they are faithful and wrap their tails around each other in strong currents so no force of nature can break them apart. Acrylics on canvas with gold leaf and drizzled resin. The contrast between canvas and resin forms a textured and tactile surface. Resin is applied to reflect and bounce light; constantly changing with the days light; evolving with a vivid fluidity to mirror the power of the sea.
