Mixed Media Abstract Painting

This painting talks about the beautiful relationship that two women can have (be they mom/daughter, grandmother/granddaughter, aunt/niece, siblings, cousins, friends, lovers, etc). Two women who experience each other as a kindred spirit and understand each other completely. They share a sacred space between them that time and distance can’t destroy. They can share their deepest secrets, biggest mistakes, and most vulnerable moments without feeling judged or threatened. Indeed a precious bond.

This artwork has been painted in my signature style using copper (sheet) and acrylic paints. Copper, a pure metal, represents the positive core that each one of us have within our hearts and the deep love that we are capable of. The canvas has been cut to reveal the faces’ outline. A copper sheet is a layered behind the canvas and it shines through the cut outlines representing their love. The deep bond between the two women radiates out in bright colors to fill the canvas with warm and positive energies and we are subtly drawn into this beautiful energy.
