The title 'A Beautiful Burn' came from the way this painting embodies two opposing feelings — the raw heat of passion and the quiet beauty that follows it. I was inspired by moments in life when intensity changes us, when an experience leaves a mark that is both painful and transformative. That idea of something “burning” yet leaving behind something striking and unforgettable felt deeply personal to me. I worked in acrylics, building layers of crimson, amber, and deep, earthy browns, letting each coat partially reveal the one beneath it. Using palette knife strokes alongside softer brushwork created a balance between rough energy and gentle flow. This technique allowed the surface to feel alive — textured in some areas, almost glowing in others.

When viewers stand before this work, I want them to feel both movement and stillness, the push and pull between chaos and calm. It’s a piece close to my heart because it reflects my journey of growth — learning that even in the heat of challenge, beauty can rise. A Beautiful Burn is not just a painting; it’s a reminder that sometimes the most powerful art, like life, comes from the fires we survive.
