Out on a foggy day. The scene is from my home town Beirut. There are lovely ports all along the city’s coast and the weather early winter morning is always foggy and soft. I wanted the viewer to be tempted to reach into the scene and touch the water and feel the soft dew filled air on their face.

The boats in the background are hidden behind the fog. This piece was my first in this style. I loved the result. I achieved the fogginess by watering down the paints and adding lots of white and buffing them out with several sponges. Even tiny drops of color mixed with white resulted in a cotton candy-like feel to the composition. The colors I chose are as soft as the scene except purposefully at the very bottom to show that even the most beautiful days are always followed by night.

Its muted tones would fit any pastel and mellow home décor. The entire image was made using acrylic paints and sponges. The canvas is glossed with a shiny varnish that will protect it from the elements also allowing it to be cleaned. It comes fitted with hooks and a wire for easy hanging.
