African Woman Painting

Last summer I got the chance to visit Kenya and South Africa and I was amazed at the hospitality and sincerity of the Africans who I interacted with. Just wanted to come home and paint a vibrant picture of a beautiful African girl to remind me of my pleasant stay in Africa.

The doodling for the head gear is done with a special technique of oil pastels known as Sgraffito. Oil pastels are such a vibrant medium to work with, that anything made with them looks amazing.

The face is also made with oil pastels. The jewelry is done with acrylic paints. The fine dots on the dress and the head gear is done with the dotting tools. For the textured effect in the background, I have used different kinds of paints along with 3D outliners to give a 3D effect also.
