Abstract Alcohol Ink Painting

This alcohol ink artwork continues an exploration of hidden landscapes and the layers that exist beneath the visible surface. Soft blush, muted teal, deep green, ivory, and earthy brown flow into one another, interrupted by areas of rich gold that bring warmth and depth to the composition. Unlike a traditional landscape, the work offers no fixed horizon or viewpoint. Instead, colour and texture create their own sense of place. The forms can suggest mineral deposits, changing coastlines, fragments of earth, or landscapes seen from above. The fluid movement of alcohol ink allows these shapes to emerge naturally, creating a balance between intention and unpredictability.

There is a quiet contrast between the soft, almost translucent areas and the darker, more concentrated passages. Gold appears within these intersections like something discovered beneath layers, suggesting value, memory, or light found in unexpected places. The painting invites the viewer to look slowly and discover details that may not be immediately visible. It reflects on the idea that beneath every surface lies another layer, another story, and another way of seeing. With its organic forms, subtle movement, and sophisticated combination of muted colour and gold, the work carries a calm yet distinctive presence within contemporary interiors.
