Nature Acrylic Painting

This is an acrylic painting using the technique of blocking in and glazing before the additional details are added on to the subjects. In this painting, the artist creates an imaginative scenic sunset with blooming water lilies as her subject. The painting's background is the artist's impression of a dusking sky. For the mass expanse of drifting clouds, the artist uses cadmium yellow, cadmium orange and burnt orange against the sky of cadmium orange, Indian yellow, magenta pink, blue violet and purple. The middle ground is the water reflections of the glowing yellows and orange of the sky and the setting sun. The artist adds trees and bushes of burnt umber and greens to project the surrounding wilderness. In the foreground of the painting, the artist paints leaves of water lilies floating calmly near the water banks. The water is painted in deep turquoise, hooker's green and black. The artist paints the floating leaves of the waterlilies in oxide green, cadmium orange and light pink. A few waterlilies sprouting on the fertile leaves gives an impression of blooming spring under the evening sky.

This painting impresses the viewer with the stunning scene of cool evening sky and waters surrounded by the glow of setting sun, with large expanse of waterlilies leaves in full bloom. Note: The canvas is a round stretched canvas of 50cm diameter.
