UAE Themed Acrylic Painting

This big blue acrylic on canvas was inspired by life in the UAE, its rich traditional and cultural way of life, including palm trees, camels, the traditional coffee flask and cups, the domes and geometry of traditional Islamic architecture. It has been done in several layers. The top layer has gold glass liner for the birds, and has been filled in with acrylic glass paints. Before starting the use of colors, I did a little sculpting to give an embossed effect of the subject, then after that dried, I used rope to line the outer structures and separate spaces, then I used acrylic with the knife for most of this painting, and a few brush strokes where necessary.

The canvas is prepared by me from stretching to priming. It is made with good quality fabric, stretched on a personalized wooden frame and then primed. It can be removed conveniently to be rolled up for travel, when needed. As an artist, I like to convey the cheerful, happy aspect of life, though serious, my work is always positive and hopeful. I hope to have conveyed this in the painting here as well. I want the viewers to connect with the traditional beauty of the Emirates. Said the Ruler: “Our value in life is defined by what we do. Achievement is similar to love; they both grow by sacrifice and both are essential for life.”
