Spiritual Painting

From my early childhood, Buddha inspired me a lot through Jataka Tales. He renounced his material life and attained the height of asceticism. The image of Buddha has deep-rooted in my mind as a face of peace, patience, and tranquility. This work is an abstract version of Buddha’s face, deeply immersed in meditation with closed eyes. The Idea in mind was to enlighten from darkness and to create the face of Buddha with all its serenity and tranquility. Illuminating from the darkness as though the moonlight glistens on the placid water. Here the darkness refers to the body which is illuminated by the golden light showcasing the enlightened soul. Replicating the life of prince Siddhartha who gave up his luxurious bodily life and arose to eternity, thereby creating belief in millions of minds about the value in the simplicity of life and choosing His path to lead their lives coming above the materialistic gains. Let Buddha’s teachings lead us like a torchlight in the chaotic time and shine in our minds with hope and peace. This work is acrylic on canvas. Gold, Burnt Umber, and black used in such a way to get a mix of glowing effects and the light as I imagined in my mind. This artistic artwork is beautifully showcased in our online art gallery.
