Camel Mixed Media Portrait

Camels have long been revered for their grace, beauty, and this one is no exception. Living very close to Lahbab camel farms I take great joy in meeting and photographing these graceful animals, endeavoring to capture their many expressive characteristics rendering them in fine chalk pastels, with highly intricate detail. These wonderful creatures captivate me with their extraordinary features, from their abundantly whiskered mouths, their wide smooth nostrils, their heavy eyelashes and tufted ears. They rank among my all-time favorite subjects. I named this one Curious Caramel, as she was ever so friendly, and innately inquisitive. This framed piece (size 50 x 42 cm) is part of a collection of camel portraits.
