Trees Oil Painting

Why are you so solemn and still? The world is noisy enough. The mind is confused enough. But you, standing there. Tall, still and silent. Against the sky. You are like a wordless assurance. A piece of the everlasting. -Cypress Trees by D.H. Lawrence For this painting I used quartz sand mixed with acrylic paint as a base to create a textural effect, and then oil paint mixed with turpentine for color. It depicts the landscape of Tuscany, Italy. The overall atmosphere is quiet and subdued, with three silk cypress trees and the back of a man who seems to be contemplating the mountains in the distance. The sunlight is pale and the man and the trees reflect the shadows on the grass. I hope this painting can convey the power of contemplation. The style of my paintings is healing, and I hope my paintings can bring peace and joy to people.
