Mountains Acrylic Painting

This is an acrylic painting using the technique of blocked in and glazing before the additional details are added to the subjects. This painting is my artistic rendition of Fairy Meadows, as named by German climbers, located near one of the base campsites of Nanga Parbat (Killer Mountain), Gilgit Baltistan in Pakistan. Fairy Meadows, an alpine meadow of a high altitude is situated in Rakhiot Valley at the end of a glacier of the same name. The artist uses ultramarine blue and titanium white to paint the cloudy sky while raw umber and black are used to paint the snow-capped mountains. The artist paints the middle ground of mosses and marshes of trees and shrubs in several shades of oxide green, hooker's green, and yellow-green.

The valley's earth is painted using raw umber, Indian yellow, and white. To paint the lush, vast fields of shrubs and grasses, the artist uses the fertile shades of light green and Naples yellow, while grey and white are used to paint the flowing stream in the midst of lush fields. The artist adds cows and horses grazing in the fields to give an impression of morning life. The artist uses the heavenly meadows as her inspiration to paint the breathtaking, scenic valley and aims to lures the viewers to feel the meadow's cool early morning air and the wetness of the fresh morning grass!
