Abstract Mixed Media Painting

Drift is an abstract mixed media painting inspired by the shifting forms of clouds and atmosphere. Layers of acrylic paint flow in cool turquoise and deep ocean blues, creating a sense of depth and movement. Modeling paste adds tactile texture, evoking mist and vapor, while accents of gold leaf emerge organically throughout the surface, catching the light and suggesting moments of transformation and radiance. My process is deeply physical and additive. I utilize a blend of acrylics, marble powder, and modeling paste to sculpt the canvas, creating a high-relief quality that moves beyond the two-dimensional plane. These layers represent the complexity of human emotion—built up, weathered, and occasionally fractured to reveal hidden depths. All original paintings are on 3.5cm deep 3D canvas.
