Echoes of Peace is the first painting in Marya Adnan’s four-part series As-Salaam, an artistic reflection on the journey toward inner peace through faith. Amidst the chaos of the world, the daily struggles, and the unseen battles we face, it is Allah—As-Salām, “The Source of Peace”—who brings true serenity to the soul.

The abstract background in this painting mirrors the uncertainties of life, while the olive tree and dove carrying an olive branch symbolize divine tranquility, guidance, and renewal. As-Salām (ٱلسَّلَامُ), one of the 99 Names of Allah, means “The Giver of Safety,” a reminder that real peace comes not from worldly conditions, but from Allah’s protection and mercy. The olive tree, mentioned in the Qur’an, stands for light, purity, and sacred guidance.

The dove represents hope and the timeless promise of peace after the storm. Known for blending realism with expressive abstraction,

Marya creates art that evokes emotion, reflection, and stillness. Through her work, Marya invites viewers to reconnect with their spiritual core and transform their spaces into sanctuaries of stillness and hope.
