Glitter Portrait Photography Print

The ‘Fire Avatar’ was one of the first series that Dominik photographed. This was at a time when Dominik’s career was really taking flight and booming. The main creative idea behind this piece is the abstract of letting yourself free. Stepping outside of your body and mind. Feeling your aura and energy as it runs through oneself. The artwork was very strongly inspired by the movie Avatar by James Cameron. It resembles tranquility but also passion and the soul of the human being. The photo was completely done within the camera and not in Photoshop.

The style of the lights allowed streaks through the artwork to be created through certain light settings within the camera. Dominik used red lights to reflect passion and blue lights to really represent the feeling of tranquility and calmness. Again, this expresses the feeling of letting yourself go. In this special instance, the makeup has been performed by the model herself. Dominik was lucky enough to work with the model who was also a special effects makeup artist. They decided to make the model's face completely covered in glitter. This allowed the photo to give streaks that again symbolized her aura.
