Fisherman Oil Painting Portrait

This is one of the earlier paintings of the artist was done in spontaneous realism style using oil paint and palette knife. This technique allows very expressive strokes to translate the mood of the object painted. The inspiration behind this vibrant portrait of the local fishermen lies in the beginnings of Dubai as a pearl diving and fishing village. You wouldn’t think now looking at very progressed megapolis but there are still places where traditions live. It is known the eyes are the windows to the soul and here the viewer can definitely see the depth of the gaze. The gaze full of life and wisdom, and many stories to pass on.
