Abstract Art Oil Painting

This painting is part of the Fragmented Memory series that was inspired by places I have never been to, but have read about in novels. I call this painting “Forgetting Granada”. In this painting I try to convey my constant yearning for adventure, travel and seeking out the unknown. With the ongoing pandemic, many of us travel enthusiasts have been left dreaming of when we can once again go on adventures and visit the places on our bucket lists. This has only stoked the flames of my already intense feelings of wanderlust. Thus, I decided to express these emotions through canvas.

I use a multitude of colors to convey the intensity of my yearning, and the abstract nature of this piece reflects the magical and surreal feeling that travel and adventure can give rise to. Indeed, the colors come together to create an almost dreamlike visual, and this was intended to reflect how my dreams are filled with vibrant voyages to all of the fabulously fantastic places that I have only read about or heard about.

I made this painting in July 2020. The medium is oil on canvas of size 47x71 inches (120x180 cm). I have signed it on the front. The stretched canvas is staple free sides, wired on the back and with no need for framing. It's ready to hang. Even the sides are painted with the theme color of the painting.
