Flower Oil Painting

This oil painting is inspired by a bright yellow hibiscus, a symbol of joy, positivity, and new beginnings. The reference was a lovely capture by my friend from her backyard. She told me she remembered me as soon as she saw the bloom, and that truly touched my heart. I used soft yet layered strokes to bring out the velvety texture of the petals and a gentle gradient to capture the morning light dancing on them. Each stroke felt like painting sunshine itself. When people see flowers and think of me, I feel beyond grateful,, and it means my love for blooms has quietly bloomed in others too.

Vinu Aravind is a detail oriented fine artist who transitioned from a career in physiotherapy to pursue her passion for oil and acrylic painting. Her work is rooted in the intricate traditions of Thanjavur art, focusing on technical precision and a deliberate use of color to capture the beauty of her subjects.
