In 2022, in Tahe County, Greater Khingan Mountains, Roy Wang used a white flashlight to draw a Bear figures out of thin air in a forest. This is also part of his ongoing WWF Earth Hour public welfare project. Through the relationship and dialogue between light-painting art and animals, he hopes to call on everyone to protect animals and the ecological environment.

Hailed as China’s leading light-painting artist, Roy Wang pioneers a Chinese Romantic aesthetic, reviving mythical creatures from the ancient classic Shan Hai Jing across modern architectural skylines. Holding four Guinness World Records, his viral creations use light as a brush and the night as a canvas, captured entirely in-camera without any digital manipulation or post-processing.
