The Nicobar pigeon is one of the species of pigeons only found in the Islands of Nicobar, southwest peninsular Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Solomon's, and Palau.

The bird’s colors and stunning feather details express ebullience. Another interesting fact about the Nicobar pigeon is that it's the only surviving member of the Caloneas family, making it the closest living relative of the extinct dodo.

This pigeon is commonly hunted and is losing its habitat to climate change and may be extinct in the wild real soon. By painting endangered birds and animals I seek to remind and inspire people about the beauty present around us and that only with intervention can we save these stunning beauties.
