Horus - symbolized by the majestic falcon or a man with a falcon's head - is an embodiment of protection, intense mysticism, unification of the two lands, youthful rulership, retaliation, and divine healing. The legendary tale of Horus the Egyptian boy who lived is full of drama and triumph. Born of the powerful godly union of Isis and Osiris, his bitter uncle Seth (Lord Voldemort himself!) sought to thwart the heavens by murdering Osiris. Horus bravely pursued vengeance, defeating Seth and becoming king while still so young. Yet the battle was not without cost as Horus’ eye was plucked from his face. Thankfully, the divinely-gifted Thoth used his magic to restore the eye, now known as "Wadjet". The Eye of Horus was believed to not only protect but also to hold magical healing powers, often used as an amulet of protection. Its 6 segments proudly represent the six pieces of Horus' eye, each standing as an emblem of one of the six senses.
