Sufism is considered as one of the most peaceful religions. The Sufis are considered as ambassadors of peace, love, compassion, harmony, patience, tolerance, mercy and kindness. Sufi Whirling, a mesmerizing and profound dance form, is an integral aspect of Sufi traditions, philosophy, and poetry. The whirling dance of the Sufi dervishes is much more than just a visual spectacle. Their mystical whirling is so peaceful and connects them to God. The movements of the dervishes represent the mystical journey of the soul toward truth and union with God. Each rotation is a metaphor for the inner quest and search for spiritual enlightenment.

This is a physically active form of meditation. It follows the rhythms of life, the heartbeat and breath, as a Divine Art. The whirling dervishes in this artwork are mesmerized in their mystical whirling under the beautiful full moon night. As the full moon shines, the rhythm rises, their whirling intensifies and so does their mystical journey. I have used acrylic colors to create this and the contrast of hues of dark at background and bright for the foreground gives the artwork a very appealing look. The mystical sky with moon shining through clouds accompanies the rhythms of their flared skirt as they whirl. This is perfect piece to enhance beauty and bring positive vibes to any space.
