Abstract Acrylic Painting

Interlacement is an abstract piece that intertwines texture and color to create a vibrant and layered visual experience. The painting begins with a foundation of gesso, carefully applied to form unique textures that set the stage for the colors to come. Once the gesso dries, the intuitive process of layering begins, with each stroke bringing the composition to life. The use of gold, light and dark blues, coral, and salmon creates a striking balance between warmth and coolness, offering a harmonious yet contrasting palette. The composition is guided entirely by intuition, allowing the interplay of shapes and colors to develop naturally. Some sections of the painting are crafted by freehand, lending a sense of fluidity and spontaneity to the work. In contrast, the clean, interlacing straight lines, created with the aid of tape, introduce a sense of order and structure. These lines intersect and overlap, symbolizing connections and intersections, from which the title Interlacement is derived.

The contrast between the free-flowing, organic forms and the precise, geometric lines invites viewers to explore the duality of freedom and control, chaos and order. As with all of my work, Interlacement is a personal exploration of texture, color, and form, inviting viewers to engage with the layers both visually and emotionally. The vibrant interplay of gold and blues, offset by the warmth of coral and salmon, creates a dynamic and inviting composition.
