For years, I carried the image of this painting in my mind, waiting for the right moment to bring it to life. It wasn’t just about two children and a bicycle—it was about a feeling I have always wanted to preserve. As a mother of two children who share a beautiful bond, I have had the privilege of witnessing countless moments of quiet love, encouragement, and togetherness. Those ordinary moments often become the most extraordinary memories. This artwork is inspired by that very relationship—the way one sibling instinctively guides the other, offering confidence before the world asks them to find it on their own.

The bicycle became a symbol of life’s journey. Sometimes we are the one learning to balance, and sometimes we are the one running alongside, reminding someone we love that they are capable of more than they believe. The birds watching from above represent hope and gentle reassurance, echoing the thought that inspired this piece: “What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?” This painting is deeply personal. It reflects my own life, my children, and the timeless beauty of sibling love. It is a reminder that the greatest gift we can give one another is the courage to move forward, knowing someone is always beside us. After imagining this scene for so many years, seeing it finally come to life on canvas feels like sharing a piece of my own heart.
