Mosque Oil Painting

As the crescent moon of Ramadan draws near, I begin to feel a strange nostalgia for you. How I’ve come to love the warmth of the UAE's people, the generosity of its culture, and the vastness of its desert. What once was a foreign nation has become home. The call to prayer is now an ally to my sunrise. As I wake to the muezzin’s cry I see the mosque against the fading skyline. It is a place of peace and contemplation, a reflection of the community’s devotion to God.

There is endless beauty in the meticulous detail of Islamic architecture. I know one day I will return to colder lands but my heart will not forget the sound of your music, your graceful calligraphy, the heat of your sun and the might of your mosques, hidden away between busy highways and limitless skyscrapers. I admired this mosque and its surroundings since the first time I saw it, I really wanted to make a little tribute in oil to its beauty and all the memories that it brings back to my family.
