Abstract Artwork

This work shows what we have been through recently due to COVID19 and what a child in particular thought about it . This is titled as “Locked Moon ”. The subject is inspired by a casual question asked by a child to his mother during a full moon night, “Is the moon locked or are we locked I know it is lockdown everywhere in world “. This was a very enervating question. In a city where the whole area is brightened by city lights, one still feels caged due to the lockdown.

On the other hand of the child's imaginative story, the moon too is feeling caged as it cannot reach out to the millions of hearts as they all are depressed. The rods are made with slices of handmade paper to generate a 3D look. The hint of blue and green is showcasing the grief and hate generated due to the abnormal situation by chance not by choice.

The orange and white color show the optimism to survive without being mentally berserk in midst of emotional delirium of losing jobs, relatives and kin. The little hint of pink shows a trace of romantism still left in human relations. The yellow color used in painting is to show the zeal to survive and bounce back. The dense and thick colors are used to give a 3D visual effect. This work generates a ray of hope in the campus of dark pessimism.
