Back when I was a child, I could lose myself for hours in a good book. Through my eyes, I wandered through distant worlds and stepped into countless adventures from the safety on my own home. I was so absorbed that I often remained unaware of the world outside. Back then, reading wasn’t just a hobby - it was a door to a world of knowledge and imagination. Like many of us today, I eventually found myself reading less and less, caught in an endless scroll of reels and notifications. But lately, I’ve found my way back to books and tale after tale, I begin to feel that special magic they once held for me again. I created this painting to celebrate that feeling - to show how books can unlock doors to infinite possibilities. On the canvas, you’ll see a young girl lost in a story, while the world around her transforms. The natural elements engulf her with color, bringing to life images dancing through her mind. I used a palette knife technique to add rich texture and energy to this dreamlike scene as I hoped to capture that sense of wonder that comes alive when we read. I pray this piece reminds you of the magic waiting to be found between the pages of a book.
