Flowers Painting

Making these roses using alcohol inks has taught me so much in the past couple of weeks. “Roses do not bloom hurriedly; for beauty, like any masterpiece, takes time to blossom” by Matshona, is a quote that is one of my favorites.

The quote not only describes beautifully the essence of roses, but it also aptly describes art in a nutshell. It relays the beauty of dedicated hard work and how each artwork can become a masterpiece if it is just given time and patience. Although alcohol inks don’t take much of your time, they still require dedication, perspective, and a kind of sincerity that can be symbolized with Roses and this quote in particular. I truly enjoyed witnessing the rebuff of vibrant colors to the repulsive alcohol. Red roses are one of the most significant beauties of nature, they symbolize love and affection.

The rose has a beautiful layered structure, where the layers descend down the spiral of the flower, giving it a depth that makes it so unique. Each layer of petals represents the stages of love. Through my alcohol ink artwork I have tried to bring in these depths through the spiraling of my inks, to create the ultimate luxury feel of this flower.

This flower is liked by all, not only due to the outward beauty but also due to the various natural symbolisms that emerge from it. The flower while being synonymous with love, never grows without its thorns which depict the hardships of the love, for what is love if not accompanied by some grief.
