Ganesha Oil Painting

Lord Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and the God who is worshipped before people begin anything new. Ganesha’s form is highly charming and mesmerizing. Ganesha is the lord of wisdom, speech, science, mathematics, philosophy, and practical spirituality. He is invoked first before any sessions of knowledge, the performance of rituals, or yoga practices. Every year during the Ganesh festival we see so many Ganesh idols in different forms colors and sizes. Each idol is an expression of the artist who created it. This very thought inspired me.
This panel painting is my attempt to visualize and incorporate Ganesha into the colors of nature; Green the color of life on earth, Orange the color of dawn, Blue and turquoise the color of water, and Yellow the color of fire.
The warm and cold tones I used in the panels balance each other to create a soothing effect and that is the overall idea of this painting. To create a divine and serene feeling.

Archana Bellamkonda is an Ayurvedic doctor and artist whose work is deeply rooted in Indian tradition and spiritual themes.
