Abstract Acrylic Painting

Nightmare of the Wolf is a series I started as a tribute to one of my favorite series, The Witcher. This is the 2nd volume of the series, which is titled The Awakening. This painting does not project the awakening from the nightmare, but the awakening of the imagination of the lone wolf itself. The idea behind this painting is, even though the lone wolf is continuously hunted by its nightmares, it can create its own world using imagination. It will never feel isolated, bound by its past and its memories. It will move forward, carrying the past and facing the future strong and unfazed.

I remember listening to some fantasy music at the time when I was painting it, Thomas Bergersen to be exact. One of my favorite composers, his music shaped the image of this painting. Together, with the emotions I felt at the time, I chose the colors that will represent the awakening. I see this painting as a very vibrant representation of the wolf and the journey it is on, you can see the memories and nightmares taking shape and also hope through its imagination.
