Abstract Eye Painting

This painting was done using acrylics on canvas, and though very literal in the subject matter, it still is very profound to raise fundamental questions about our thoughts. I was inspired by the quote from Baha’u’llah: “O man of two visions! Close one eye and open the other. Close one to the world and all that is therein and open the other to the hallowed beauty of the Beloved.” The painting can imply two types of Faith, one which is blind and fanatical and the other which is conscious faith, which inspires, uplifts, empowers and makes the soul grow. It can also imply another reality, positive and negative thoughts, clearly portrayed. The painting is 70x50 cms and 2 cms thick.
