Abstract Sculpture

This sculpture, "Rhythm & Form," is a striking abstract assemblage that captures the essence of music through its structural complexity and dynamic balance. Crafted predominantly from bold geometric shapes—cubes and a prominent tilted pyramid—it suggests the angular, yet harmonious, composition of sound. The stacked elements create a sense of potential energy, as if the forms themselves are vibrating with an unheard melody.

I used a paper mache technique, combining sculpted forms with layered textures. The deep black base provides contrast for the shimmering gold-leaf effect, which is intentionally applied with a distressed, fractured texture. This creates a visual rhythm that mirrors the complex tonal qualities of a musical score. The core idea behind this piece is to translate the feeling of music into a tangible form. I want the viewer to feel a sense of pensive dynamism; an appreciation for how seemingly disparate parts can come together to create a powerful, unified harmony. It's a tribute to the unseen structure that underlies all beautiful sound.
