Lord Ganesha is one of the main deities in Hindu culture. He is considered as epitome of auspiciousness and purity. He is remover of obstacles and God of wisdom. Shurpakarna is one of the names of Lord Ganesha meaning the one with large ears. Symbolically, the big ears show us the importance of careful and active listening. This artwork is created using acrylic colours. I have used hues of blue at the background and Ganesha with light yellow, cream hues to bring out the contrast. The elegant leaves at the background and the yellow design in the front adds an appealing look to this artwork. The symbols of ‘Om’ and ‘Swastik’ are also added as they are considered very sacred. Being Ganesha devotee myself, creating this artwork was a spiritual experience for me. I hope to resonate the same feeling in the heart of viewer/ collector of this artwork. As per Vastu, keeping Lord Ganesha painting at home is considered very auspicious, blissful and lucky.
