Abstract Synthography Art

Part of a series in which I was experimenting with liquids and their interactions, specifically how paint would react when thrown and what would happen to it by combining colors and fluid dynamics that simply cannot be created at home. The concept of the series is to experiment, play with color, and to have pure fun doing it without the massive cleanup effort afterwards - something that I'm sure we are all in favour of. Splash 2 is my depiction of a sea wave crashing onto a nonexistent shore. The beauty of a rolling wave recreated in fluid paint emphasising the dynamics of the movement, splashes and bubbles that a real crashing wave creates in isolation from its surroundings.

Synthography is the practice of creating images with computers such as AI, photographic and modelling software and this image was created with Microsoft Image Creator and refined in Photoshop. I discovered image creation with Artificial Intelligence via a random post that came up on my Facebook timeline and, being the technology geek that I am, I was intrigued as to how it was done. I started with portraits as a familiarisation exercise and the AI would allow me to add elements that would be impossible to photograph without extremely expensive studio setups and high speed cameras such as paint splashes. From this I did my first series of images of paint splash portraits. I have since experimented with different objects such as molten glass and water combined, the play of light upon objects and other abstract concepts including science fiction.
