This artwork focuses on the artist's personal story reflecting the emotions of sadness and loss through which was evoked during the Syrian civil war. The events which occurred during that specific period of time affected my memories as it wiped out the culture and traditions that I once resonated with so deeply. So, the girl drowning in my final piece doesn’t just resemble death and her feelings of hopelessness, but it shows how the girl symbolizes Syria itself, disintegrating and fading away. The Final piece also explores the relationship with my country and how the corrupt regime decisions have affected my life, as it weakened the bond I had with my country.
