Flower Acrylic Painting

"Blanket Flowers or Gallardia" as they are called are a species of flowers that are nourished by neglect. The daisy-like heads, with their zing of color and prolific growth habit, are an excellent addition to any perennial garden or container. The majority are grown in sunset hues with some sporting brilliant oranges, reds, and yellows. The foliage is grayish-green and slightly hairy, usually about knee-high. They belong to the sunflower family. Flower stems reach 1 to 3 feet (30-90 cm.) and bloom from early summer until frost arrives when getting proper blanket flowers to care for. Being an avid gardener and a lover of flowers, these particular flowers from my Garden are far too colorful and have always caught my eye to paint them. I always draw inspiration on a daily basis from my beautiful garden. This painting is a very vibrant painting done on a round canvas with acrylic colors. The technique used is both brushwork and the Palette knife. Palette knife is a blunt tool used for mixing or applying paint, with a flexible steel blade. It is primarily used for applying paint to the canvas, mixing paint colors, adding texture to the painted surface.
