Mixed Media Painting

This Tanjore-inspired artwork captures the profound truth that time, like the life of a mayfly, moves far faster than we realise. The mayfly, one of nature’s most fleeting creatures, becomes a powerful metaphor for the brevity of human existence. Its delicate wings rise above a vintage clock, while Roman numerals symbolise the relentless passage of moments that never return. Surrounded by intricate gold work, jewels, flowers and a moonlit night, the composition contrasts timeless beauty with the transient nature of life. The mayfly’s remarkably brief adult existence reminds us that even the shortest life can hold meaning when lived fully. The painting invites us to reflect on our own journeys. Childhood becomes adulthood, dreams become memories, and precious moments slip quietly into the past. Years may seem to vanish in the blink of an eye, yet each moment offers an opportunity to embrace life more deeply. A Fleeting Moment is both a celebration and a gentle reminder: time waits for no one, but the moments we truly cherish can live forever in our hearts, becoming timeless memories long after they have passed.
