Autumn Abstract Oil Painting

This painting is part of a series of four paintings called “The Four Seasons”. The four seasons have always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for poets, musicians, painters... who have described and interpreted them in different ways. Chris Barley has used his images, feelings and emotions to communicate his vision of these different times of the year. Autumn brings darker, earthier colors, such as brown, burnt orange and fading greens; all evoking the maturity and wisdom of this season. The shapes are more melted, overlapping, inspired by the slow decay of nature at this time.
