The Majestic Peacock ‘Hidden amongst the auburn leaves, A striking beauty cannot be unseen, Dancing through the bright autumn trees, Those magical colors deceiving it ...' The national bird of my country, the majestic peacock has always held a strong meaning for me. A creature often prevalent in tales of fantasy and myth, the peacock is considered a symbol of peace, tranquility, and fortune. The peacock’s feathers have for centuries been poached leaving the bird at near brink of endangerment, which was one of my key inspirations in creating the piece, where the peacock is hiding amongst fallen autumn leaves. My painting of the ‘Majestic Peacock’, try to create a contrast in the colors of the Peacock’s feathers and the surrounding autumn setting. Although, the pink fauna envelopes the beautiful creature, yet the beautiful bird is trying to blend in vain. The painting has shades of incandescent gold and greens that glimmer when light falls on the painting. A part of my bird series the painting of the peacock is an original one of a kind.
