Animals Mixed Media Painting

Tiger in woods has always been a challenge for the artist because here not only does she have to bring about the might and ferocity of a tiger, the artist has to deal with the destiny and wilderness of a forest as well. Since the artist has come from Masai mara and has seen these creatures in their natural habitat, it had always been a desire to capture that essence in form of a painting. Though we couldn’t be part of the game as such we saw the tiger feasting on his hunt a few minutes later. The aggressiveness of this animal could be easily seen at that time. The tiger to tigress was with 2 cubs and we could even see blood on their faces. The tiger has been sketched and colored using pastel pencils because I thought the fur is best depicted by pastel pencils. Also, the intensity of the eyes comes out beautifully with these pencils. Oil pastels might not have been able to do justice to it. But the flora in the background is all oil pastels. The painting will roar in any home. This artistic artwork is beautifully showcased in our art gallery.
