Architecture Mixed Media Painting

Timeless Passage uses mixed media to create a rustic antique door with lots of texture and reflective light. I used stucco putty and wood shavings for the walls, aluminum foil for the door, and acrylic paint with two different consistencies to paint it. While still wet, I removed parts of the paint to reveal the foil. I also used a stencil, gloss gel medium and acrylic to create the steel embellishment on the door. My obsession with antique doors, their historical significance, and weathered rustic appearances led me to create a collection called “Doors with Soul”, where I use various mediums to create antique doors. These doors are a reminder for me that growing old can be graceful and not necessarily a bad thing. With age comes wisdom, experience, the ability to appreciate time, and the mundane things in life. These doors are located in various cities around the world and my dream is to one day find them and take a picture with them.
