In Why Would You?', UAE-based Egyptian artist Reem H. Sultan delivers an intense, emotionally charged visual interrogation. Rendered in textured acrylic on a 40x60 cm canvas, the artwork rejects passive viewing, using a turbulent collision of form and color to confront the audience with a raw, unresolved question. The composition is defined by deep structural friction. From a heavy, monochromatic vortex of black and grey, an explosive rebellion of color breaks free. Jagged, icy white and blue cascading strokes cut sharply through the canvas, crashing violently into bleeding veins of molten gold, forest green, and defiant, fiery red.

Reem’s heavy brushwork leaves a physical imprint of urgency. The title acts as a psychological mirror: is it an accusation, a plea against self-destruction, or a challenge to break societal molds? By trapping these chaotic, elemental forces in perpetual conflict, Why Would You?
