The stitched fabrics and embellishments act as metaphors for life’s journey—each thread and stone representing a memory, scar, or triumph. They reflect how aging carries layers of stories, each adding to the richness of character. The piece challenges societal norms that often marginalize aging women by portraying an older woman as the centerpiece of haute couture and fine art. It asserts their place in spaces of beauty, culture, and power.

The attached canvas birds add a dreamlike, surreal quality. Birds often symbolize the soul, transcendence, or freedom. In this context, they may represent thoughts, dreams, or legacies taking flight—perhaps aspects of the woman’s spirit or history being passed on.
