This artwork is a reimagining of one of my favorite characters, Laurice. Inspired by colors and patterns that surround me and that I love, this piece also explores my fascination with exaggerated body shapes and the unusual placement of hands and feet. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of proportion, and this is a style I plan to continue exploring. When I finished drawing Laurice, I felt an unexpected wave of nostalgia and sadness. She seemed to embody the feeling of goodbyes—the kind that linger, where loss is felt deeply. The addition of rain, like teardrops falling, felt like the natural conclusion to her story. It’s funny how art can bring out emotions we didn’t even realize we were holding. Through this piece, I hope Laurice finds someone who loves her exactly as she is—quirky shape, odd hands, and all. Because in her uniqueness, there is something tender and captivating, and I think she deserves to be cherished for it. This piece is printed on canvas, stretched on wood, ready to add a vibrant touch and a strong statement to any space.
