Abstract Synthography Art

My experiments in combining glass and water from earlier experimental works took me into combining landscape scenes into the image and how reflections and refractions of light interplay with the scene almost as if there was a world inside another world. I also wanted to convey the motion of falling into the water with the ripples and splashes it creates, also reflecting the larger landscape. I have also created a sense of scale and depth with foreground and background out of focus, but it is as much real as unreal - or surreal.

Synthography is the practice of creating images with computers such as AI, photographic and modelling software and this image was created with Microsoft Image Creator and refined in Photoshop. I discovered image creation with Artificial Intelligence via a random post that came up on my Facebook timeline and, being the technology geek that I am, I was intrigued as to how it was done. I started with portraits as a familiarisation exercise and the AI would allow me to add elements that would be impossible to photograph without extremely expensive studio setups and high-speed cameras such as paint splashes. From this I did my first series of images of paint splash portraits. I have since experimented with different objects such as molten glass and water combined, the play of light upon objects and other abstract concepts including science fiction.
