Heidi Schroeder, known artistically as Artbyheidii, creates expressive works that reflect resilience, movement, and a deep appreciation for life’s evolving rhythms. She signs her paintings with the name “Kull,” a tribute to her maiden name and a signature she has used since completing her very first piece. This personal detail remains a quiet but meaningful connection to her artistic beginnings.
Her path to becoming an artist was not a direct one. After completing a high school diploma in design, life led her in a different direction following the early loss of her parents. She pursued professional training in accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as foreign language correspondence, later complementing her knowledge with distance studies in business administration. Her career included many years in the telecommunications industry, followed by nearly two decades in consulting, and most recently work in data protection.
A significant turning point came when she relocated abroad with her family. The sudden shift from an intensely busy professional life to a slower pace brought unexpected challenges, including a serious health diagnosis. During treatment, she returned to painting, using it as a form of therapy and emotional expression. Through this process, creativity became both a refuge and a source of strength.
Now cancer free, Heidi Schroeder approaches her art with renewed passion and gratitude. Her recent work explores the theme of movement, expressed through layered textures, subtle three dimensional effects, and flowing colors. Gold often plays a central role in her compositions, symbolizing elegance, depth, and light. Her paintings invite viewers to see motion within structure and emotion within color, offering a visual experience that is both dynamic and deeply personal.
