Rashida Golwala is a self-taught visual artist of Indian origin based in the UAE, recognized with the UAE Golden Visa under the artist category by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. Her multidisciplinary practice spans oil, acrylic, watercolor, alcohol ink, charcoal, pastel, resin, textured art, and mixed-media works enhanced with gold leaf.
Inspired by travel, nature, and cultural heritage, Rashida creates expressive landscapes, florals, still-life compositions, abstracts, and contemporary Arabic calligraphy artworks. Her distinctive artistic signature lies in seamlessly blending traditional calligraphy with modern techniques, textures, and fluid mediums. Her bespoke artworks are essentially the combination of mixed mediums.
An active member of the International Watercolour Society (IWS), Rashida has exhibited nationally and internationally across India, the UAE, Italy, and Ecuador, with her works collected worldwide. As a dedicated educator, she regularly conducts workshops for children and adults through leading art institutions and private programs.
She is a trained Calligraphy artist - both in English Copperplate and Arabic thuluth script. A master calligrapher, she has also led Arabic Calligraphy workshop at the Mercedes-Benz Center in Dubai, sharing the beauty of the Thuluth script with diverse audiences.
She accepts commissioned projects for luxury interiors and spaces. Through her art and teaching, Rashida continues to inspire creativity, cultural appreciation, and artistic exploration.
