Cristina Alves is a Portuguese mixed media artist based in Doha and the founder of AuraScape Interior Decoration, a sustainable art and décor studio focused on sculptural works created from reclaimed and repurposed materials. Her practice explores transformation, memory, and the relationship between material and natural processes through textured wall pieces and layered reliefs that exist between abstraction and suggestion.
Self-taught and deeply process driven, Cristina creates tactile surfaces using recycled elements, natural fibers, mesh, pigments, and sculptural compounds, giving discarded materials a renewed sense of presence and meaning. Her work is shaped by themes of resilience, growth, and reinvention, often reflecting the tension between fragility and strength.
Known for earthy palettes and richly textured compositions, her pieces combine organic and synthetic materials in ways that challenge conventional ideas of waste, permanence, and beauty. Sustainability remains central to her artistic approach, both through material reuse and through a philosophy of conscious transformation. Her work continues to evolve through exhibitions and collaborations across the Middle East and Europe.
