UAE Themed Acrylic Painting

This big acrylic on canvas was inspired by life in the UAE, its rich traditional and cultural way of life, focused on this desert woman, wearing a traditional face mask. The falcon is the National bird of the country and the camel high up is the king of the desert, looking happy and content as if sailing by. Dates and the palm tree are also native to the desert. In the distance, but prominently portrayed is the skyline of Dubai, done in gold line and filled with glass paint. I used the knife for most of this painting, with a few brush strokes where necessary. The canvas is prepared by me from stretching to priming. It is made with good quality fabric, stretched on a personalized wooden frame and then primed. It can be removed conveniently to be rolled up for travel, when needed.

As an artist, I like to convey the cheerful, happy aspect of life, though serious, my work is always positive and hopeful. I hope to have conveyed this in the painting here as well. I want the viewers to connect with the traditional as well as modern beauty of Dubai and the Emirates. Said from the Ruler: “Our value in life is defined by what we do. Achievement is similar to love, they both grow by sacrifice and both are essential for life.”
