Abstract Acrylic Painting

I felt the desire to create a new artwork, but I found myself limited to landscape and earth colors. I wished to explore other forms of art, such as abstract, someday. It had been a busy day at work, and I was exhausted. Usually, I cycle to work and back home, and I think about the streets, houses, trees, and well-manicured lawns. After resting and eating, I sat at my workstation and started to paint, which is the best way I know to release stress and pain. Since I was feeling emotionally low, I chose black paint. After it dried, I thought of streets and used masking tape to create lines that resembled streets. I then created different shapes similar to house lots and applied white paint to frame the inner shapes.

As I progressed, I slowly felt relief. To add more details, I applied dots and circles for patterns, then black lines on the white areas to represent shadows of trees, plants, and grasses. The repetitive round strokes helped me loosen up and focus on my work. As it is nearly finished, I feel better and happy. The finished piece reminds me of difficulties in life, diverting my attention to creativity and it helped me release my stress and create new ideas.
